Member of Yaşar University’s Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Assoc. Dr. Gülnur Ballice said that the COVID-19 epidemic that closed us off to our homes has reminded us of many failures that we do not deal with during normal conditions. She mentioned the importance of balconies, which are the thresholds that connect the people who cannot leave their homes with the street and outside life and how they have become more prominent.
On another note, the importance of being multi-purpose, flexible and transformable by adapting to our homes and furniture according our needs was also better understood.
